Still water is rare and beautiful. It reflects everything around it, but more softly. It forgives all the harsh lines and is not defined by them.

There will always be harsh lines in our days. Sometimes they will be around us: the angry neighbor or toddler, the broken car or frustrated spouse. Sometimes they will be in us: the heartbreak, the lonely, the temper. It is rare to find the person that can let these lines reflect on them but not define them.

The more still we choose to be, regardless of the circumstance, the more we start to reflect something other than what surrounds us. We begin to reflect Christ.
